Parsing mis/disinformation and ensuring choice in contraceptive methods
The 2025 annual meeting of the Free the Pill coalition featured a panel discussion to provide the basics about hormones for contraception and other indications; what we know and don't know from research on contraception misinformation; and strategies to help both dispel disinformation and communicate within a framework that respects people’s concerns, experiences, and method choice.
Moderated by Britt Wahlin, Vice President for Development and Public Affairs at Ibis Reproductive Health, speakers included:
Anu Gomez, PhD, MSc, Professor of Social Welfare at the University of California, Berkeley
Angela Maske, Senior Manager of Contraceptive Access Campaigns at Advocates for Youth
Sriha Srinivasan, #FreeThePill Youth Council member and medical student at George Washington School of Medicine and Health Sciences
