The term women may be used throughout this site in reference to research studies that identified the gender of participants as women. We acknowledge that using women may be inaccurate if participants were not asked or allowed to provide their gender and that these data limitations may exclude the experiences of some people seeking contraception who do not identify as women, such as non-binary or transgender individuals. Ibis Reproductive Health engages in important research to support increased understanding of the sexual and reproductive health needs and experiences of transgender and gender-expansive people which is critical to ensuring that our policies and systems are inclusive of people of all genders.
