Innovative Distribution Subgroup

The Innovative Distribution Subgroup is a subgroup of the Free the Pill coalition that focuses on strategies for amplifying information about Opill and other OTC contraceptives, as well as identifying best practices for product distribution directly to communities.

This subgroup meets every other month to advance our current priorities, including:

  • Leveraging Perrigo’s in-kind bulk donation program to reach communities that could benefit most from affordable access to Opill

  • Gaining insight into coalition members’ work sharing information and distributing OTC birth control in their communities

  • Exploring distribution models, including peer-to-peer networks, vending machines, on-campus, and in-kind bulk donation programs

  • Identifying educational needs and access gaps

  • Developing and disseminating evidence-based, accessible materials about Opill, OTC contraception, and affordable birth control options

  • Strategizing about how to ensure equitable access through innovative distribution models for Opill (and future OTC birth control pills)

The Innovative Distribution Subgroup is open to Free the Pill coalition members who are signed on to our statement of purpose. All coalition members actively receiving Opill donations or planning to apply for Opill donations in the future are encouraged to join this subgroup. This subgroup may also be beneficial for coalition members who are interested in developing and disseminating information about Opill within their communities. If you are interested in getting involved in our work, please contact us.
