Free the Pill, as a project of Ibis Reproductive Health, and the European Consortium for Emergency Contraception invite you to save the date and mark your calendars for October 27, 2026 at 7am PT/10am ET for an exciting webinar highlighting key lessons learned from recent efforts to expand access to non-prescription/over-the-counter (OTC) daily birth control pills in the United States and United Kingdom.
Join us for a discussion about the potential that removing the prescription requirement for oral contraceptives has for improving access and breaking down barriers to contraceptive care. Speakers will shed light on the history behind the switch of progestin-only pills from prescription to non-prescription status in the United States and United Kingdon, detailing the partnerships, advocacy and research strategies that were necessary for regulatory change. Attendees will gain insight on how this new channel of access is impacting communities as well as opportunities and challenges for pursuing similar efforts in other countries. Presentations will be followed by a Q&A session designed to stimulate critical dialogue on strategies that could be applied in other countries to improve access to oral contraceptives through regulatory change or other approaches.
